About
About The Faraday Co.
We make one category of product properly: conductive enclosures and fabrics that put a measured barrier between a signal and its receiver.
Everything we sell works on a principle demonstrated by Michael Faraday in 1836. A conductive enclosure reflects and absorbs incident electromagnetic energy, so what is inside is isolated from what is outside. The physics has not changed in nearly two centuries. What has changed is the number of signals in a normal day — the fob in your pocket broadcasting to your car, the card in your wallet answering any reader that asks, the phone in your bag reporting its position continuously — and the number of people who would like some control over that.
What we sell
Key Guards — sealed pouches and cases for keyless entry fobs. A relay attack works by capturing your fob's signal through a wall and repeating it at your car. Sealed inside a Key Guard, there is no signal to capture and the attack does not complete.
Stuff Guards — Faraday bags for phones, tablets, laptops, cards and passports. Sealed, a device inside cannot transmit or receive: no cellular, no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, no GPS, no NFC. Nothing gets in and nothing gets out.
Body Guards — conductive silver-fibre textiles: garments, wraps and bed canopies that attenuate radio-frequency energy across the area they cover.
Grounding Guards — conductive sheets, pillowcases, wristbands and desk mats that connect you to earth potential through a verified building ground. No power, no batteries, nothing to charge.
DIY Guards — shielding fabric, tape, mesh and hardware sold by the metre with published specifications, for people building their own enclosures.
How we talk about performance
Shielding effectiveness is a measurement, not an adjective. It is expressed in decibels, it varies enormously across the frequency spectrum, and any single headline percentage quoted without a frequency and a test method is meaningless. So we do not quote one.
Instead, our materials are tested by independent laboratories, we report attenuation across frequency, and we will send you the documentation for any product in the range. Email us and ask.
We also tell you what our products do not do. Conductive fabric does not shield low-frequency magnetic fields from building wiring. A garment is not a sealed enclosure and signal will pass through its openings. A Faraday bag only works when it is properly sealed. None of that is in the interest of a quick sale, and all of it is in the interest of a customer who buys the right product and keeps it.
We make no health claims. We do not claim our products prevent, treat or reduce the risk of any medical condition, and we would be suspicious of any company in this category that did. What we sell is measurable shielding performance and the documentation to prove it. What you do with that is your decision.
Who buys from us
Owners of keyless vehicles. People who travel with equipment they need to keep off the network. Corporate and legal teams handling confidential devices. Executive protection and security professionals. Journalists and investigators. Preparedness planners building shielded storage. And people who simply prefer to have some control over what their devices are broadcasting.
