The Room Guard — shielding bed canopy

A box-shaped canopy in 100% silver-fibre conductive fabric, sized for a king bed and hung from four ceiling points. It attenuates radio-frequency energy reaching the space inside it.

Performance

The fabric is tested for shielding effectiveness across frequency. Attenuation is reported as a curve rather than a single figure, because performance varies substantially across the spectrum. Test documentation is available on request — email info@thefaraday.co.

How to get the performance it is capable of

A canopy performs as an enclosure only to the extent that it is closed. Attenuation depends on complete coverage with no significant gaps, and on the fabric reaching the floor or being tucked beneath the mattress. An open or partially draped canopy will pass signal.

Shielding does nothing about sources already inside. A phone, tablet or smart speaker inside the canopy is inside the shielded space. Keep transmitting devices outside it.

Conductive fabric does not shield low-frequency magnetic fields from building wiring or appliances — those require ferromagnetic materials, which we do not supply. The optional grounding connection addresses low-frequency electric fields only.

Verify it yourself

Take baseline readings around your bed with an EMF meter, install the canopy, then re-measure the same points. You will see the difference, and you will also see where the gaps are.
